Working well with delivery drivers: best practices for restaurateurs

Delivery drivers are the last link between your kitchen and the customer. A good relationship with them directly improves the quality of your deliveries.

Tip 1: A professional welcome. Greet the delivery drivers, clearly indicate the waiting area, and inform them of the estimated wait time.

Tip 2: Prepare the orders in the order of delivery driver arrival, not in the order of order reception. A delivery driver who waits 15 minutes will lose patience.

Tip 3: Clearly identified orders. Paste the order number on the bag in a visible way. This avoids confusion and speeds up delivery.

Tip 4: A glass of water. In summer, offering a glass of water to the delivery person waiting is a simple gesture that creates goodwill.

Tip 5: Communication in case of delay. If an order takes longer, notify the delivery person upon their arrival. Uncertainty is worse than waiting.
