Sources, licences and data access
All the data published on Fooderise comes from public sources under an open licence. This page lists the sources, the applicable licences, the update frequency and the API endpoints.
Data sources
Addresses, coordinates and tags (amenity=restaurant, cuisine, opening_hours…) collected by OSM contributors. Pulled through the Overpass API.
Official register of French companies (SIRET, SIREN, NAF code, administrative status, creation date, trade names). Matched by geographic proximity and name.
National business register: financial statements, company directors, closing dates. Used to enrich the company page (revenue, profit, headcount).
Geographic reference data: regions, départements, EPCI, communes (INSEE codes). Used to attach each address to its administrative division.
Update frequency
- Weekly OSM + SIRENE refresh — every Sunday at 02:00 UTC, all 101 départements are pulled again from Overpass and matched against the SIRENE database.
- Monthly Snapshot of companies and matched addresses — on the 1st of each month at 02:00 UTC, a frozen copy feeds the trend pages (see the charts).
- Monthly INPI enrichment — on the 1st of each month at 03:00 UTC, financial statements, directors and closing dates are fetched for every SIREN.
API endpoints
All APIs return JSON and need no authentication. The response format may change — it is not versioned yet. Reasonable limit: a few requests per second.

Reuse
You may reuse this data in your own projects — provided you comply with the upstream licences:
- Credit « © les contributeurs OpenStreetMap (ODbL) » for any derived dataset that includes OSM coordinates or tags
- Credit « Base SIRENE © INSEE / DINUM » and « Registre national des entreprises © INPI » under Licence Ouverte 2.0 for company information
- If you redistribute modified OSM data, the ODbL licence requires you to share those changes under the same terms (share-alike)
