Fake reviews are a scourge for honest restaurateurs. Whether they come from malicious competitors or abusive customers, they can seriously impact your rating and revenue.
How to identify them: a very detailed review from a “customer” who has never made a purchase, a one-star review without comment on the day a competitor opens, multiple negative reviews on the same day coming from recently created accounts.
To report on Uber Eats: go to the “Reviews” section of your dashboard, click on the specific review, select “Report this review” and choose the reason (fake review, inappropriate content, competitor).
To report on Deliveroo: contact the partner support by specifying the order number (or the lack of order) and the reasons for your report.
Processing time: 5 to 15 days. The platforms investigate each report. If the review is deemed fraudulent, it will be deleted and the rating recalculated.
Prevention: maintain a high overall score (4.5+). The higher your score, the less impact a single individual review has on your average.
