Fake reviews are more common than people realize. Competitors posting negative reviews, former employees seeking revenge, and customers using review blackmail to obtain refunds.
Signs of a fake negative review: the account is recent and has only left few reviews, the description doesn’t match your menu, the review is very long and emotional, or it mentions impossible details (a dish you don’t serve).
To report a fake review on Uber Eats: go to “Customer Comments” > select the review > “Report”. Describe why you believe the review is fraudulent with concrete evidence.
On Deliveroo: contact the partner support with the order number (if available) and explain the situation. Reviews without an associated order are more easily deleted.
Create a file: screenshots, dates, comparisons with your order tickets. The more you document your report, the more likely it is to succeed.
The best defense against fake reviews is a high volume of genuine positive reviews. If you have 300 4.5-star reviews, a 1-star fake review will have almost no impact on your rating.
