Reduce delivery wait times in your restaurant

Delivery wait times are an indicator tracked by the platforms. A high average wait time penalizes your ranking and degrades the customer experience.

The objective: the command must be ready when the delivery person arrives. In practice, aim for a maximum waiting time of 2 minutes. Beyond that, the delivery person will get impatient and your score will decrease.

Anticipate the delivery person’s arrival: the platforms indicate the estimated arrival time of the delivery person. Start your preparation based on this timing, not when the order was placed.

The pickup zone must be visible, accessible, and close to the entrance. A “Delivery Pickup” sign with a dedicated counter eliminates search time.

Organize the orders ready in chronological order on the pickup counter. The delivery person must be able to identify their order (customer name visible) and take it within 30 seconds.

In case of a rush, communicate with the delivery drivers. A simple “2 minutes, it’s almost ready” avoids the frustration of a silent wait and the risk that the driver cancels.
