You don’t control the delivery routes, but you control the preparation timing. Good timing reduces the delivery driver’s waiting time and therefore the total delivery time.
The goal is for the order to be ready when the delivery person arrives, not before (the dish cools down) and not after (the delivery person waits and your score decreases).
The platforms send an estimated delivery time. Use this information to calibrate the start of your preparation. Start 5 minutes before the estimated arrival time of the delivery person.
Multiple orders (when a delivery driver must retrieve several orders in the same neighborhood) are common. Prepare them in batches to optimize retrieval time.
The pickup zone must be accessible: clear, visible, and close to the entrance. Every minute a delivery driver loses searching for your restaurant is an extra minute for the customer.
In case of delivery delay (more than 10 minutes), report it to the platform. If the order is ready but the delivery is delayed, the responsibility for degraded quality is not yours.
