Extended weekends and holidays are golden periods for delivery. People are at home, relaxed, and don’t feel like cooking. The volume of orders can double compared to a normal weekend.
Plan ahead. Check the calendar for holidays and bridges for the next three months. For each period, plan for additional stock, additional staff, and any special offers.
Adjust your schedules. A Monday holiday generates as many orders as a Sunday. Open up the traditionally closed time slots: morning brunch, afternoon snack. Customers on vacation order at unusual times.
Create specific offers. A special “long weekend” menu or an aperitif platter for the bridge can generate impulse orders. Communicate on your social networks 2-3 days before the bridge to be present in the minds of customers.
Keep an eye on the competition. Many restaurants close during holidays, which reduces competition. If you stay open, you capture a larger share of the demand. It’s often one of the best returns on investment of the year.
