Delivery platform contracts are adhesion contracts: you sign them as is. But some elements are negotiable, especially if you generate a significant volume.
The commission rate is the key point. Beyond 300 orders per month, request a meeting with your account manager to discuss a preferential rate. Prepare your figures.
Visibility is negotiable. Platforms offer premium placements (featured on the homepage, “Popular” badge) which are sometimes offered in exchange for a volume commitment.
Payment terms are also a lever. The standard is a weekly transfer, but you can negotiate a daily payment to improve your cash flow.
Exclusivity warrants discussion: some platforms offer reduced rates (-3 to -5 points) in exchange for a 6 or 12-month exclusivity. Calculate whether the commission gain compensates for the loss of volume on other platforms.
Keep a written record of all agreements. Account managers change frequently and verbal agreements are lost. Always request email confirmation.
