Terminating an employee: a step-by-step procedure

Summons: By LRAR or personal delivery. A minimum of 5 business days must elapse between receipt and the appointment.

Interview: Explain the reasons. Listen to the employee’s explanations. He/She may be assisted.

  1. Notification: Dismissal letter issued by the labor office (LRAR) at least 2 business days after the interview.

Real and serious reason: There need to be precise, dated, and verifiable facts. “We don’t get along” is not a reason.

Notice: Must be done or paid for (unless there is gross negligence/malice).
