Guide your team on the use of tablets and platforms

Tablets for platforms are the interface between your kitchen and your customers. An error in handling (order not accepted, time not adjusted, dish not deactivated) has immediate consequences.

Create a laminated visual guide alongside the tablets. For each situation (new order, stock out, order problem), a procedure with a maximum of 3 steps and screenshots.

Designate a “tablet manager” per department. This person is the only one authorized to validate orders, adjust timelines, and manage incidents. This prevents everyone from touching everything.

Most common mistakes: forgetting to accept an order (it expires after 5-10 minutes), forgetting to deactivate a dish out of stock, confusing “ready order” and “order in preparation”.

Conduct a practical exercise: simulate a busy hour with fake orders. This allows the team to familiarize themselves with the interface without real risk.

Platform application updates sometimes change the interface. Remain vigilant after each update and brief the team if necessary.
