What the platforms don't tell you
Automatic refunds
Platforms often refund customers without verification. These deductions are taken directly from your payments. 30% are disputable with the right evidence.
Co-financed promotions
Offers like 'Free delivery' or '-20%' are partially funded by the restaurant. Read the terms before accepting a marketing campaign.
Featured placement fees
Some platforms charge extra for premium placement in results. It's advertising disguised as a 'visibility boost'.
Payment processing fees
In addition to the commission, some platforms deduct payment processing fees (0.5 to 2%). Check your payment statements in detail.
6 strategies to reduce your commissions
Price markup
Increase your prices by 15 to 25% on platforms compared to your dine-in price. It's allowed and practised by the majority of restaurant owners.
Direct ordering
