Just Eat: an underestimated platform by restaurateurs

Just Eat is often the third choice for restaurants, after Uber Eats and Deliveroo. However, the platform has specific advantages that would be a shame to ignore.

Commissions are often lower (15-20% vs 25-30%). This difference of 10 percentage points in commission translates directly into margin. On 10,000 EUR of monthly revenue, it’s 1,000 EUR of additional profit.

Just Eat’s audience is different: more family-oriented, less urban, with an average basket often superior. Families who order for 4 are overrepresented on Just Eat.

Competition is lower on Just Eat. There are fewer restaurants listed there, so your relative visibility is better. You appear more easily on the first page.

Just Eat offers click & collect with very low commissions (sometimes 5-10%). It’s the best deal on the market for in-store pickup.

The partner portal, Just Eat, is less sophisticated than those of Uber Eats and Deliveroo, but the basics are there. The key is to be present to capture a different audience.
