How to read Google reviews of a SaaS restaurant publisher — and why it’s not enough

Google reviews are often the first instinct when evaluating software. It’s convenient, quick, and often relevant – for a restaurant or artisan. For a B2B SaaS publisher like an order aggregator, this approach deserves to be supplemented by a more rigorous method.

Why a single Google rating isn’t enough for a B2B SaaS. The number of reviews for a SaaS publisher is structurally low compared to that of a restaurant. A base of a few dozen reviews can easily be influenced by a solicitation campaign from satisfied users – which is not prohibited, but introduces a selection bias. Users who have had difficult experiences don’t always leave a review; those invited to leave one are often the most satisfied. The resulting rating therefore does not necessarily represent the actual distribution of satisfaction.

You can analyze more than just the rating. Look at the distribution of scores: a healthy B2B profile generally has a high proportion of 5★ with a few 1★ that are well documented, and few intermediate ratings. Read the negative reviews in detail: they often contain precise technical information that positive reviews do not provide. Note the regularity over time: spikes of positive reviews concentrated on a few weeks, followed by long periods of calm, deserve particular attention.

Independent verification channels. To evaluate Keytchens – or any aggregator – the most reliable sources are independent communities of restaurateurs. Ask directly in professional Facebook groups (several have thousands of active members), in business WhatsApp communities, or in sector forums. The quality of feedback you will get in these spaces is incomparable to simply reading Google reviews.

The direct referral approach. Ask the publisher for the contact details of 3 to 5 production clients who have been active for more than 6 months, including their full name and restaurant, to contact them directly without an intermediary. A publisher confident in its own service quality will accept this request without difficulty. A refusal or evasion on this matter is, in itself, information.

You need to test it yourself. The most reliable evaluation remains testing in real-world conditions. Fooderise, like most serious alternatives, offers a full 14-day trial without a credit card. This period allows you to evaluate the stability of the platform, the responsiveness of support, and the reality of the features on your configuration – far beyond what any Google review can teach you.

In summary. To evaluate Keytchens or any other command aggregator: (1) read Google reviews critically, especially detailed negative reviews; (2) look for testimonials in independent restaurant communities; (3) ask for verifiable direct references; (4) test in real-world conditions for at least two weeks. This is the only way to form a solid opinion before making a commercial commitment.
